Medical Plastic Enclosures

Custom Plastic Enclosures For Medical Devices

When it comes to custom medical enclosures or laboratory devices, Toolless is the best. Toolless has more than 20 years of experience in the medical industry. Our customers range from mechanical or design engineers to doctors, nurses, physical therapists, and labs technicians. Many have come to us with a need to house their numerous components. For example, pumps, circuit boards, respiratory devices, etc.. All needed so that they could test their innovative invention. Our expertise in the medical industry has allowed us to help create custom plastic medical enclosures. Let us help you bring these innovations to life.

The task is to create in a few short weeks a prototype that integrates all necessary components. Additionally, to be aesthetically pleasing, plus having the desired functionality. Toolless offers a complete turnkey solution (NRE package).

Customers will have more time for their internal hardware or software. We will take the time in the design of their custom medical device enclosure. Customers have the ability to send their custom medical device prototype for certification or test it in-house. This eliminates taking a chance with an expensive mold.

Whether our enclosures go in a lab, in a hospital, in an ambulance, in a doctor’s office. Toolless takes pride in delivering a cosmetic enclosure, which helps to improve lives—be it patient or medical staff.

State Of The Art Medical Enclosure Designs

Since 1994, Toolless has worked with many medical companies for many types of applications. These include, surgery rooms, sleep diagnostic equipment, dry eye solutions, respiratory devices, breathing simulators, CPAP ventilators and the list goes on.

Following are examples of our work:

High Quality Medical Device

EST Analytical has been a Toolless customer since 2004. We have designed many laboratory devices for them.

This picture is just an example of the lab test devices we created for them. This unit is a robotic sampling device that was first designed in 2012. Toolless was able to match the customer’s design. It included the top curves, the color of the plastic, and the side ventilation necessary for airflow. A blue acrylic window allows the customer to see through the device while the machine is operating.

 Features:

  • Air ventilation louvers pattern
  • Blue clear acrylic

Curved Design Option

This unit is a robotic sampling device that was first designed in 2012. Toolless was able to match the customer’s design. It included the top curves, the color of the plastic, and the side ventilation necessary for airflow. A blue acrylic window allows the customer to see through the device while the machine is operating.

This off-the-grid portable mini ventilator device designed in 2009 is used in many hospitals. It is also used for neonatal and pediatric ventilator support. This device required a few design challenges. First we needed to consider the general shape of the enclosure and rolling the plastic to hold the shape. Second it was important that the handle for the device matched the curve.

Features

  • Printed panel
  • Various curvatures
  • Hand-held device

Multicolor Choices

Finally, we needed to create this device to be small and still accommodate all the necessary hardware. Not only were we able to meet all these challenges we exceeded. We were able to create a multi-colored medical device with the use our digital printer. Toolless produces approximately a hundred of these units a year.

This EEG custom medical device was designed in 2017 and is still manufactured, full service by us. We consistently produce around 25 devices a month. The design includes curving the plastic or a big hog out area for the label. Muliticolored plastic and many different cut out options are required for 34 channels.

Features

  • Hog-out Printed panel
  • Punch out for connector option

Various Shape And Size

Here is another example of some very specific lab devices prototyped in 2011. We produce about 10 units a month of this autosampler. The units consist of many different parts and Toolless makes the blue acrylic cover to protect the internal components.

The small blue acrylic window was the biggest challenge. It needed to match the bending shape and the angle of the part. Toolless also has expertise to glue 2 different type of material such as Boltaron and Acrylic.

Features

  • In-motion possibilities
  • Multi-material bonding
  • Flame resistant UL94_V0

EMI RFI Coating

This breathing simulator has been first designed in 1998 by Toolless. We still make around 10 of these medical equipment monthly. The inside of the enclosure is EMI Shielded, and has a metal frame for mounting their hardware.

Features

  • Ability to bend
  • Multi-technology capability

Medical Quality With No Molds Or Tooling

The ability to run cost effective medium production is our strength. As is evident from the above examples Toolless works hard with its customers to create a design . We not only meets their needs, but the designs are sturdy, reliable, and aesthetically pleasing and applicable to the medical industry. The Toolless technology is the world’s only fully integrated manufacturing system. We use it for producing medical plastic enclosures quickly, easily, at a low cost, and without molds or tooling.
